For primary school pupils

Materials Needed:
- Respect Token (e.g., a soft ball, plush toy)
Instructions:
- Preparation:
- Arrange chairs in a circle or sit on a mat to facilitate discussion.
- Introduction:
- Explain the goal of the activity: to share and listen to experiences related to respect and disrespect.
- Activity:
- Start with a student who shares a personal experience related to respect or disrespect.
- After sharing, the student passes the Respect Token to another student.
- The next student shares their experience and passes the token to another.
- Continue until all students have had a chance to share (or as many as time allows).
- Discussion:
- Discuss the effect of listening to each other’s experiences
- Emphasize the importance of respect and active listening in building a supportive classroom.
- Print our full-sized Classroom Respect Pledge, get everyone to read it out loud and each person signs their name on it.
