Virtual: 6 hours (with three 15-minute breaks) OR 2 Day Sessions of 3 hours each (15 minute break each day). Full Sessions run from 9am to 3pm. Two-day sessions run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m across two consecutive mornings.
Join our online refresher training for current Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) and Deputy DSLs. The sessions are facilitated by an experienced safeguarding professional and are designed to strengthen your knowledge, update your practice, and ensure compliance with current safeguarding standards. Course Summary
This refresher training helps DSLs maintain up-to-date safeguarding knowledge and meet the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) requirement for biennial training. Participants will revisit the core responsibilities of the DSL role, examine effective safeguarding systems and processes, and explore strategies for creating a proactive safeguarding culture across their school community. Who Should Attend?
This course is intended for:
- Experienced Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs)
- Experienced Assistant Safeguarding Leads (ASLs)
Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will:
- Revisit the key duties and daily responsibilities of the DSL role
- Refresh their understanding of key safeguarding and child protection legislation and guidance
- Review essential school policies, reporting procedures, and information-sharing protocols
- Learn what happens after an external referral and how schools contribute to multi-agency work
- Gain confidence in leading safeguarding updates and in-house training for staff
The course is delivered live online. Participants are expected to join with both camera and microphone enabled to ensure full engagement in discussions, polls, and breakout group activities.

- Physical: NGN 60,000 per person

Certificate: A digital participatory certificate will be given to registered participants who:
- Complete activities and engage in discussion
- Fill the attendance form
- Complete the training
- Keep their video on for the duration of the class (For virtual sessions)
