Target Audience: This course is designed for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) and educational professionals in primary and secondary schools. It aims to improve the participants’ confidence in recognising, understanding, and documenting cases of neglect.

Course Overview:           Neglect is the most common form of maltreatment encountered by children and poses significant challenges for schools. This two-hour session will deepen your understanding of neglect, develop effective practices for identifying and addressing it in educational settings, and provide strategies for safeguarding children.

Content:             Introduction to Child Neglect, Forms of Neglect, Challenges in identifying and evidencing neglect, Impact of Neglect, Improving Identification in Schools. Responding to and Reporting

Technical Requirements:            

  • Platform: Zoom or Google Meet (Exact platform will be communicated after registration)
  • Equipment Needed: Computer or tablet with internet access, webcam, and microphone.
