Dear Shielded Space Community,
A bright, hopeful new year awaits! I am thrilled to connect
with you as we step into 2023. The past year brought some tricky times, but we
tackled each challenge with care and commitment. Now we have a fresh start to
grow stronger together. As your passionate resident safeguarding manager, I
want to share a few thoughts to inspire us all:

Stay
alert! Keep your eyes and ears open for any signs a child needs help. With
vigilance and awareness, we can make a difference.

Communication
is our superpower! Encourage kids to speak up in a judgement-free zone.
Collaborate with parents and teachers in schools too.

Knowledge
is power! We need to keep learning and training on the latest skills and
policies. In safeguarding, the learning never ends.

Embrace
diversity! Ensure all children feel welcomed and respected. A safe space
includes everyone.

Adapt
and improve! As the world changes, so must we. Evaluate your organisation’s
protocols and get creative.
